Bryant R. Riley is Chairman of B. Riley & Co., LLC (B. RILEY) a Los-Angeles-based brokerage and California Registered Investment Advisor. Since founding B. RILEY in 1997, Mr. Riley has grown the firm into a leading full service investment bank with offices nationwide; much of that growth occurring at a time when other firms were either downsizing or closing.
B. RILEY provides proprietary research and trading ideas primarily to institutional investors. Its Corporate Finance Group services the capital raising needs of both public and private companies.
B. RILEY also serves as the General Partner and Investment Adviser to BRC Emerging Managers Fund of Funds, LP (the “Fund”), a Delaware limited partnership structured as a fund-of-hedge funds. Mr. Riley also is founder and Managing Member of Riley Investment Management, LLC, an investment advisor which provides investment management services to Riley Investment Partners, LP, a hedge fund.
Mr. Riley currently sits on the board of directors of three publicly traded companies –Great American Group, Strasbaugh and Cadiz Inc., and is on the board of privately-held Lightbridge Communications Corp. Earlier, Mr. Riley held Board positions at Alliance Semiconductor Corporation, Aldila Inc., Carreker Corporation, DDI Corp., Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc., Celeritek, Inc., Kitty Hawk Inc., Mossimo Inc., SI Technologies, Inc., Silicon Storage Technologies, Trans World Entertainment and Transmeta Corp.
Prior to launching B. RILEY, he held a variety of positions in the brokerage industry, primarily as an institutional salesman and trader. From October 1993 to January 1997 Mr. Riley was a co-head of Equity at Dabney-Resnick, Inc., a Los Angeles-based brokerage firm. From 1991 to 1993 he was a co-founder of Huberman-Riley, a Texas-based brokerage firm.
Mr. Riley holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Lehigh University.
